Filters and Segments
GA4 allows you to create filters and segments that can disregard certain visits or change where traffic is reported to come from. Google Search Console does not do this. So, if someone hits your link on Google Search and then does anything that is screened out in GA4, that visit may not be counted in GA4 or may appear to have originated elsewhere. In this situation, Search Console will count the click, but GA4 may not count the session or may report that it came from another source. Also, if you put up segments in GA4 and don’t manage them effectively, your reports may only display a portion of your Google traffic, even if GA4 monitored it all.
Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console frequently produce conflicting results for homepage traffic since they employ comparable but not identical criteria. GA4 is extremely customizable, and setup issues may result in data disparities. Using both tools together provides a more comprehensive perspective of your SEO performance.
